Previous to contextual narrative change, i had designed styles based on 40's/50's time period so all wet sets were done in oder to create particular styles as sketched below.
Amelia
As the character profile for Amelia is friendly a little scatty but respected by all students unlike Miss Michin, In light of this i wanted a design that explores all these elements while keeping to the set era. I have created a simple finger wave middle parting that fades into a larger wave fizz much like the reference image on the left.

Sara Crewe
Sweet, innocent and intelligent this hair style is heavily influenced by star of the 40's/50's Betty Grable, the look is beautifully classic and something i really wanted to bring to Sara as a character she is timeless, sleek and an image of perfection.

Miss Michin
For my proposal i chose Miss Michin's wig to create and although though the design worked really effectively, I wanted to try another style that was more fitting to the era. I wanted the hair tight at the nape of the neck to give that harsh feel while the softer waves create the image that she's is glamorous and with the fashion.

After Contextual narrative change (see other post) , although the previous sets had been created for the above 40's/50's styles i decided to be a little more free on the styling in relation to the new time period adding in elements free hand as i went that would create more beautifully modern hair.

{WIGS}
I am extremely please with the outcomes of the first two wigs, Amelia's and Sara's although i feel Miss Minchin's wig didn't work well, I had to change the style of the wig after i had completed the set as the waves set in the same direction of Sara's created a too similar look to Sara's wig and this is something i wanted to stay away from. Creating individual design's for each of the characters. Miss Minchin's wig ended up being a deep side parted finger wave long wig styled up into a curled bob, although on reflection this didn't work due to the setting not being correct for the intended style. With wigs it is all about the setting that creates perfectly polished styles rather than the styling itself. This is something i need to remember for the final wig creations and finally looking at these wigs have decided to use the initial design practised for Miss Minchin's wig in the proposal its everything i initially envisaged having understood in my previous post that i need to trust my visual initial judgment and it would also work with Amelia and Sara's wigs.
When looking at these images they evoke a piece of sculptural art rather than hairstyles, I feel they explore a beauty in objectifying the hair when contrasting this to the dark and encompassing narrative of the story, utilising the hair in this way tells the story just as much as the actual performance and a key element I would like to emphasise.
