After speaking to Sharon she gave me the idea of using the differnt layout techniques to structure chapters. After thinking about this I feel that it will be able to work as i can include variation of graphic design layouts without it looking un coherent or messy, the book following a chapter narrative also gives me a lot more structure to work to.
Break down of Chapters/ into scene's:
Chapter 1/Arty, Paper Rips
Scene 1 Opening Scene, Sarah at the boarding school with her farther, meeting Miss Michin and the girls for the first time. She is scared but acting brave for her farther. The scene is very emotional and moving looking at the designs i had previously created i wanted to go for something that portrayed this tender moment. The ripping of the paper felt right to me as it almost visualised what was happening within the scene, Sarah being ripped away from the one constant and truth in her life her farther.

Scene 2- CUT
Chapter 2/ Colour Block crop
Scene 3 Party, Sarah's settled into the school at this point being treated as the star pupil, She is enjoying her birthday until the dreaded news of her farther's death when Miss Michin punishes her. This scene was made to look very plastic and doll like, the only scene within the production images that holds brighter colours and a fun feel i wanted to exaggerate this until the point of change. Clean crops i feel will work for this composition, its playful and i can really pick up on colour emphasising this to a fun aesthetic.

Scene 4 I am a Princess, all girls are, this scene Sarah confronts Miss Michin its a key moment as it depicts the key theme of fairy tails and childhood broken through the harsh real world. I wanted to use the similar style of the Letter experimentation, using background location images with image crops to show this shift from reality to the play.
Chapter 4/ Liner see through
Scene 5, Becky and Sarah comforting each other over the pain that Miss Michin caused them both. I chose the liner graphic layout due to the feel that your looking into another world through the variation of colour boxes and images.
Chapter 5/ Textural Stitch
Scene 6, Sarah reunited with her farther, this scene i would have envisaged that it was set in the rain much like the film this adds the juxtaposition of emotion and mirrors how the atmosphere of the scene would be the blue lighting was the most we could do when photographing so finding ways to add this in post production and illustration was important. I was inspired by using texture within the book and mixed media, stitching is something I've been captured by due to the textural but flat nature something i could scan or re photograph to add into the book.
